The Lausitzring is underrated. That is good for drivers who want to go there — less crowding, often lower prices, an honest training atmosphere without the celebrity theater.
What it is
- Several track configurations from 3.4 km to 5.4 km
- GP configuration with 19 corners
- Oval track as well for special events
- Opened in 2000, operated as the DEKRA Lausitzring proving ground since 2017
What sets it apart
Configurable. Organizers can pick the right layout for each group and training goal. A short, easy-to-read variant for beginners. The full GP circuit for the advanced.
Safe. Generous run-off, clear sightlines, no hidden crests. Make a mistake here and in most cases you come back to the pits unharmed.
Accessible. Brandenburg, south of Cottbus. 90 minutes from Berlin, 60 from Dresden. No weekend logistics effort.
Programs
- Trackdays from various providers
- Drift schools — the Lausitzring is an established drift venue
- Manufacturer tests — many OEM customer days take place here
- DTM round — a fixture on the German touring car calendar for years
The ABXK take
The Lausitzring is the right first German circuit after trackday preparation. Less pressure of expectation, safer geometry, more patient instructors. After that: Hockenheim, Nürburgring GP, the Nordschleife.
For setup work too (bedding in new tires, new brakes) it is the most efficient choice in Germany: plenty of track time, little traffic, an honest data picture.
