The Lausitzring is underrated. That’s a good thing. Fewer crowds, often lower rates, an honest training atmosphere — and a variety of circuit layouts that almost no other German venue can match.
What Sets the Lausitzring Apart
Configurable. Multiple layouts, from the compact DEKRA test-oval infield course to the full Grand Prix circuit. Operators can choose the configuration to suit the group and the goal — a rare kind of flexibility.
Safe. Generous run-off areas, clear sightlines, no hidden crests. It’s one of the circuits where beginners learn most honestly, because a mistake rarely turns expensive right away.
Accessible. Brandenburg, well connected, with hotels in the region. Anyone traveling from Berlin or Dresden avoids a full day of transfers.
Programs
- Track days from ATD, Bridge to Gantry, RSRNurburg spin-offs — various formats
- Drift and driving schools — the Lausitzring is also popular for drift training
- Manufacturer tests — many OEM customer days take place here; a good chance to drive current models
ABXK Recommendation
Anyone heading out to a German racing circuit for the first time should go to the Lausitzring. Less pressure to perform, safer geometry, more patient instructors — and, at the end of the day, a clean step toward Hockenheim, the Nurburgring GP or Spa.
For setup work too (bedding in new tires, new springs, new brakes), the Lausitzring is the most efficient choice: plenty of track time, little traffic, honest data.
