Spa is the circuit drivers name when they have to name one. Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Mark Webber, Bernd Schneider, Romain Dumas — all have declared Spa their favorite. There is no second race track that puts so much elegance into the word speed.

What it is

7.004 km in the modern configuration

20 corners, several of them blind and some uphill

Elevation change over 100 m — the second-highest on the F1 calendar

Eau Rouge / Raidillon — the most famous corner combination in motorsport

History since 1921, in various layouts; the current one since 1979

The sectors

Sector 1: La Source → Eau Rouge → Raidillon → Kemmel straight.
La Source is a tight hairpin where little happens. Then the car drops 50 meters downhill into Eau Rouge and climbs 30 meters back up through Raidillon — at 280 km/h, with full load on the suspension. Take Raidillon flat for the first time and you never forget it.

Hockenheimring

date: 2026-01-01

Hockenheim is a working circuit. No romance, no myth, no weather theater — just asphalt, braking points, and an honest answer to the question of whether you can drive cleanly.

What it is

5.5 km in the GP configuration (since the Tilke rebuild in 2002)

17 corners, three hard braking zones, one long stadium section

F1 lap record: 1:11.212 — Lewis Hamilton, 2018

A motorsport venue since the 1960s, F1 until 2019, plus MotoGP, the DTM finale and truck racing

The sectors

Sector 1: Start → Nordkurve → Parabolika → Spitzkehre.
Nordkurve is a left-hander with a long acceleration after it. Parabolika is a compact chicane that demands braking stability. Spitzkehre — the famous hairpin — calls for a patient turn-in and a clean apex.

Lausitzring

date: 2026-01-01

The Lausitzring is underrated. That is good for drivers who want to go there — less crowding, often lower prices, an honest training atmosphere without the celebrity theater.

What it is

Several track configurations from 3.4 km to 5.4 km

GP configuration with 19 corners

Oval track as well for special events

Opened in 2000, operated as the DEKRA Lausitzring proving ground since 2017

What sets it apart

Configurable. Organizers can pick the right layout for each group and training goal. A short, easy-to-read variant for beginners. The full GP circuit for the advanced.

Red Bull Ring

date: 2026-01-01

The Red Bull Ring is the most compact F1 circuit on the current calendar — and, in distance per second, one of the most intense. 4.3 kilometers, a 70-second F1 lap, three hard braking zones, all uphill or downhill. Spend a weekend here and you have seen motorsport in compressed form.

What it is

4.318 km, 10 corners

Elevation change of 65 m in one lap

F1 lap record: 1:05.619 — Carlos Sainz, 2020

Opened in 1969 as the Österreichring, rebuilt in 1996 as the A1-Ring, reopened in 2011 as the Red Bull Ring

Owned by Dietrich Mateschitz, later Mark Mateschitz

The sectors

Sector 1: Start → Turn 1 → Turn 3.
Start/finish with a short acceleration into the Niki Lauda corner (Turn 1). Right after the climb comes the Remus corner (Turn 3) — a right-hand hairpin with one of the fiercest decelerations on the F1 calendar.

Monza

date: 2026-01-01

Monza is the only circuit that coined its own adjective: monzesco — fast, classic, Italian. Opened in 1922, the third-oldest continuously operating race track in the world after Brooklands and Indianapolis. On the F1 calendar almost without interruption since 1950. Home of the Tifosi.

What it is

5.793 km, 11 corners

Lowest downforce level on the F1 calendar — setup with minimal wing angle

F1 lap record: 1:18.887 — Rubens Barrichello, 2004 (still unbeaten)

Top speed over 360 km/h on the main straight

Remnants of the 1930s banked oval still preserved, no longer in race use

The sectors

Sector 1: Start → Variante del Rettifilo → Curva Grande → Variante della Roggia.
Main straight with the hardest braking of the year (from 360 down to 80 km/h). Variante del Rettifilo is the chicane where every start is decided. Curva Grande is the elegant right-hander after the first chicane.

Silverstone Circuit

date: 2026-01-01

Silverstone is the birthplace of F1. In 1950 the first round of the modern Formula 1 World Championship was held here. Built on a former Royal Air Force airfield — hence the straight-line layout and, by British standards, generous run-off. The circuit is slow in no sector and brutally fast in two.

What it is

5.891 km, 18 corners

High average speed — one of the fastest circuits on the F1 calendar

F1 lap record: 1:27.097 — Max Verstappen, 2020

Home to Brackley (Mercedes), Enstone (Alpine), Grove (Williams) and Silverstone itself (Aston Martin) — the F1 industry sits within a 30-mile radius

The sectors

Sector 1: Start → Abbey → Farm → Village → The Loop → Aintree.
Fast opening with Abbey, a left-hander taken at full load. Village and The Loop are the only genuinely slow corners of the lap.
