AI video moves faster than any list can follow: a model that led in spring can be mid-table by fall. One ranking alone tells you little. Several rankings together tell you more.
For this list we took seven published rankings: one blind comparison, in which people vote without knowing which model made which clip, five editorial lists and one list from a vendor. Then we checked which tools each of them puts in its top ten. The more rankings name a tool, the higher it stands here. When two tools are named equally often, the one with the better average place comes first.
We have not tested these tools ourselves. This is a count of what others rank, and every source is listed below.
The top 10
1. Google Veo
The video generator named most often across the rankings we counted. It creates clips with matching sound and follows prompts closely. You reach it through Google’s Gemini app and its filmmaking tool Flow.

2. Runway
The established tool for filmmakers and editors. Rankings value its control: camera moves, motion tools and a full editor around the generator. Suited to people who want to direct a shot, not just get one.
Runway is building foundational Real-World Intelligence that can understand, simulate and act in the world. We offer products and services built on-top of this intelligence to empower individuals and organizations to do more in the world.

3. Kling AI
A regular runner-up in the rankings. Sources highlight realistic movement of people and comparatively long clips.
Create high-quality AI videos and images with Kling AI. Turn text, images, and references into multimodal creative content in one studio.

4. Seedance (ByteDance)
ByteDance’s video model, strong in blind comparisons. Sources praise its camera movement and the way it keeps a product or character consistent from several reference images.
Create AI video, image, and short drama with Dreamina for ads, social content, product visuals, and visual storytelling. Powered by leading AI models including Seedream, Seedance, GPT Image, Sora, and more.

5. Luma
A creative AI platform for video generation and image creation, built on its own models (Ray and Uni). Relevant for creative teams, and one reason generated video is getting harder to tell from real footage; see AI Security on how to spot a deepfake.
Luma AI is the creative AI platform for video generation and image creation. Powered by the world's leading video generation models, Ray and Uni, and creative agents handling end-to-end workflows. Trusted by leading agencies and brands. Try it free.

6. Pika
The quick, playful option. Pika focuses on short clips and effects that fit social media trends, with simple controls.
AI creative tools. Built for Creatives.

7. LTX Studio
A tool that starts with the storyboard. You break a script into scenes and shots and control each one, which makes it interesting for ads and short films. The underlying LTX model is also available as open source.
LTX is the all-in-one creative studio for AI video production. Built for creative teams, marketers, and filmmakers, it turns ideas into complete, production-ready videos — faster than ever.

8. Adobe Firefly Video
Adobe’s video model, built into Firefly and Premiere. Two sources name it for output that is positioned as safe for commercial use; its strength is the editing workflow around it.
Firefly gives you the speed, control, and creative freedom to go from idea to high-quality content. Generate images, video, audio and more with 30+ AI models, all in one place.

9. Wan (Alibaba)
Alibaba’s video models. The newest version leads the blind comparison we looked at, and earlier versions are open source, which makes Wan a common choice for running video generation on your own hardware.
Wan is an AI creative platform. It aims to lower the barrier to creative work using artificial intelligence, offering features like text-to-image, image-to-image, text-to-video, image-to-video, and image editing.

10. Hailuo AI (MiniMax)
The video app of the Chinese lab MiniMax. It ranks high in blind comparisons for realism. One of our sources points to a copyright lawsuit that film studios have filed against the company — worth knowing before commercial use.
Create AI videos and images from text or photos with Hailuo AI. Explore video, image, and meme tools built for creators and social content online.

Not on the list
- Sora (in 4 of 7 rankings): Two of the 2026 sources describe Sora as discontinued or being discontinued; it stays off the list until that is clear.

What the count shows
Only Google Veo is on all seven lists. Runway is on every editorial list, but not in the top ten of the blind comparison.
That gap runs through the whole field. In the blind comparison Wan is first, and Seedance and Hailuo are in the top five — models from Chinese labs that many editorial lists mention late or not at all. Editorial lists, in turn, favor tools with an editor around the model: Runway, LTX Studio, Adobe Firefly.
Avatar tools such as Synthesia and HeyGen are named by two rankings each and end up just outside the ten. They solve a different task — a presenter who speaks your script — and you will find them among the text-to-video tools in AI Productivity.
