So we did not add another opinion. We counted.\n\nFor this list we took seven published rankings: one blind comparison, in which people vote without knowing which model made which picture, five editorial lists and one list from an API provider. Then we checked which tools each of them puts in its top ten. The more rankings name a tool, the higher it stands here. When two tools are named equally often, the one with the better average place comes first.\n\nWe have not tested these tools ourselves. This is a count of what others rank, and every source is listed below.\n\n## The top 10\n\n{{\u003c toplist \u003e}}\n\n## What the count shows\n\nTwo tools are on all seven lists: [ChatGPT](#top-chatgpt) is first on six of them, [Google Gemini](#top-google-gemini) is second on six. Behind them the picture splits, and the split is the most useful thing the count shows.\n\nEditorial lists reward tools with a clear job. [Ideogram](#top-ideogram) is on six lists because of text inside images, [Recraft](#top-recraft) because of vector files, [Adobe Firefly](#top-adobe-firefly) because it lives inside Photoshop. None of the three is in the top ten of the blind comparison.\n\nThe blind comparison rewards raw image quality. It ranks models from large labs — [Grok Imagine](#top-grok-imagine), [Meta AI](#top-meta-ai), [Seedream](#top-seedream) — that most editorial lists do not mention at all. [Midjourney](#top-midjourney) is missing there for a simple reason: it offers no API, so it cannot take part.\n\nSo a high place here means “many reviewers recommend it”, not “it makes the best picture”.
